1. Scope and Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Safe Word mobile application ("App") published on the Google Play Store by ApexBox ("we," "us," or "our"). It describes what information is collected when you use the App, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

By downloading or using Safe Word, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

We do not operate a backend server that collects or stores your personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any government-issued identifiers.

The following data may be collected indirectly through the third-party services integrated into the App:

Data Type Collected By Purpose
Advertising ID (GAID) Google AdMob Serving and measuring ads
Device model, OS version, language Google AdMob Ad targeting and crash diagnostics
IP address (approximate location) Google AdMob Geotargeted advertising
Purchase history and entitlements RevenueCat Managing premium access
Anonymous app user ID RevenueCat Linking purchases to your install

We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Local Device Data

Safe Word stores the following data only on your device using standard Android local storage (SharedPreferences):

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. It is deleted automatically if you uninstall the App, or manually via the Delete All User Data option in the App settings.

4. Third-Party Services

Safe Word integrates the following third-party SDKs. Each has its own privacy policy that governs data it collects:

Google AdMob

Used to display banner and interstitial advertisements to free users. Google may collect device and advertising identifiers, cookies, and usage data to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings under Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.

Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

RevenueCat

Used to manage in-app purchase entitlements and restore purchases across reinstalls. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous user ID to your install and records your purchase history (handled by Google Play). RevenueCat does not receive your payment card information.

Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

Google Play Store

All payment processing for the premium upgrade is handled entirely by Google Play. ApexBox does not receive, process, or store any payment card information.

5. Advertising and Ad IDs

Free users see ads served by Google AdMob using your device's Google Advertising ID (GAID). This is a resettable identifier — you can reset it or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your Android device settings:

  1. Open Settings on your Android device
  2. Tap Google > Ads
  3. Toggle Opt out of Ads Personalization or tap Reset advertising ID

Premium users who have purchased the "Remove Ads" upgrade will not be shown any ads, and no advertising data will be collected for those sessions.

6. In-App Purchases

Safe Word offers a one-time premium upgrade that removes all ads and unlocks additional features. Purchases are processed by the Google Play Store. We receive confirmation of whether a purchase was completed, but we never receive your payment method details.

You can restore a previous purchase at any time using the Restore Purchases option in the App. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Google Play per their refund policy.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Safe Word is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through our App, please contact us at jaiden@apexbox.app and we will take steps to remove that information promptly.

The App is rated for general audiences. Advertising served through AdMob complies with Google's policies for child-directed apps where applicable.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding data collected by third-party services integrated in the App:

9. Data Deletion

To delete all locally stored game data (stats, settings, progress):

  1. Open Safe Word and go to Settings
  2. Tap Delete All User Data
  3. Confirm the deletion prompt

This action is irreversible and removes all locally stored data immediately. Alternatively, uninstalling the App from your device will also remove all local data.

To delete data held by third-party services, contact them directly using the links in Section 4.

10. Security

Since Safe Word does not transmit your personal data to our servers, there is no risk of a server-side breach exposing your game data. All data remains on your device, protected by Android's standard application sandboxing. We recommend keeping your device OS and the App up to date to benefit from the latest security patches.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will post a notice within the App. Continued use of Safe Word after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
